About Me
Paula Campbell. MIACP.
I am a Professionally trained Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor,
with many years experience working with people with a wide variety of personal issues.
I graduated from The Tivoli Institute Dublin with a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I also hold a Diploma in Supervision from the Dublin Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, and now supervise the work of trainee, accreditating, and qualified
Counsellors/Psychotherapists.
I am a member of The International Centre For Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEFT).
I am an Accredited Marriage and Relationship Therapist having initially trained with Accord, and continuing on to complete an Externship and additional training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
EFT therapy focuses on adult relationships and attachment/bonding. Together we investigate negative recurring patterns in the relationship and take steps to create a secure bond and develop trust to move the relationship in a healthier, more positive direction.
I worked as an Aftercare Facilitator with The Rutland Addiction Centre for many years.
I am an Accredited Member of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (IACP). I abide by their code of Ethics and Practice for Counsellors.
As your Counsellor/Psychotherapist I will accompany you on your personal journey, acting as a sounding board, a guide, and someone who can perhaps offer a different perspective without judging or directing
you. Throughout this therapeutic relationship we will discuss and decide
together how our work is progressing and when it is complete.
I take a holistic view of people’s health and well-being and I work from a person-centred perspective, using an integrated range of counselling models personally tailored to best match each individual client’s needs.
Counselling models used include Psychodynamic, Solution Focused, Gestalt, Mindfulness and EFT. Thus facilitating individuals and couples to explore, reflect upon, and empower themselves to resolve difficulties in their lives and relationships.
I undertake to treat all my clients with the utmost respect and dignity, while committing all my skills and resources to improving their quality of life.
I believe that anybody who is committed to Counselling/Psychotherapy can and will change, opening up new, more positive possibilities for the future.
Changes may include feeling more in control, managing emotions better, feeling more self-confident, assertive, and having a greater sense of freedom to act and to make positive choices.
